Grapefruit

     Word " grapefruit " in translation from English means " grape fruit ".  But nothing common with the grapes this citrus has. It was named so because it clusters per 3-18 pieces on the branch.

     We frequently ignore this citrus fruit, giving preference to mandarins or oranges. They are sweet, with a bit of sourness, and so grapefruit is less popular. And completely unreasonably.  Fruits of grapefruit possess original sour-sweet taste with characteristic taste of bitterness. They contain sugar, organic acids, vitamins C, B, P, potassium, magnesium. 

     There are many assumptions about the origin of grapefruit, and many countries dispute the right to be called its native land.  However despite the fact that industrial breeding of grapefruit was begun only at the end of XIX century, the real history of its origin, until now, is unknown.  

     What fruit is sweeter?

     Fruits of grapefruit are larger and juicier than of orange. This citrus can be different colors.  Specifically, according to this criterion it is possible to determine, how sweet is it?

     If you like sour - select white fruits, and if you prefer sweet - red or pink ones. 

     Before the use you must cut grapefruit across and extract tasty sour-sweet pulp with tea spoon, because all bitterness consists just in the walls between the lobules.

     It is worthwhile to note that grapefruit tones up central nervous system. In the opinion of nutritionists, it is necessary to use these fruits regularly, especially if you lead sedentary life or your work is connected with intensive mental work.  

     Grapefruits strengthen protective functions of organism, improve the state of patients with diabetes mellitus, excite appetite and stimulate digestion.  This fruit stimulates the work of the brain and renders sobering action. 

     Grapefruit helps to fight?

The fruit contains surprising substance, which is directly under the rind and in the films of juice sacks.  Scientists detected that it improves digestion,  activates the activity of  liver and, consequently, also the combustion of fats.      For the face   

     Thanks to the abundance of vitamins grapefruit frequently is used for preparation of domestic cosmetic. Masks on basis of grapefruit lift and moisten the skin, and at the same time prevent the appearance of wrinkles. Grind egg yolk, pour 1 table spoon of grapefruit juice, 1 tea spoon of vegetable oil, shake up and add 1 table spoon of sour cream.  For the thickness it is possible to place crumb of black bread, preliminarily wetted in the milk. Apply mixture to face per 15-20 min. After this, wash yourself and apply cream to face.  After 10 min the surpluses of cream must be removed by paper napkin - the skin will be smooth and velvety. 

     For the hands

     Grapefruit  possesses softening effect, therefore, so that coarsened skin on elbows would again become tender, apply thin lobules of grapefruit to them per 10 min. It is possible to massage the skin of hands by crust of this citrus.  During 10 min make massage motions, and then grease hands by nourishing cream.  This procedure will make your hands smooth and it will fasten nails. 

     For the body 

     Cut the rind of grapefruit into small pieces and add into the water, when you will take a bath. Light aroma will remove fatigue, stress and insomnia, and it will also make your skin smooth and elastic. If you besides grapefruit rind will add 1 table spoon of dried milk into the water, your skin will become soft as of baby.
